Paper-Covered Airless Dispensers
Plastic piston-airless dispensers can be wrapped in paper. Containers are available in 5-, 10-, 15-, and 35-ml sizes, and paper wraps can be made from virgin or recycled substrates.

Temperature-Activated Color
Temperature-sensitive tube graphics change color when customers touch the tube. Multilayer printing can be done so that at warmer temperatures, the top layer of decoration “fades away” to reveal a second layer of decoration underneath.

Airless Pouch
An airless-packaging supplier offers its EasyFoil pouch, which is designed for highly viscous products, as well as products containing alcohol. The multilayer pouch, made from aluminum and plastic, protects products from oxygen, UV light, and moisture evaporation. EasyFoil received the 2009 Alufoil Trophy from the European Aluminum Foil Association.

Lip Gloss Applicator
Thanks to tiny “fingers” all over its tip, the SoftKiss lip gloss applicator provides even, consistent coverage. Made from thermoplastic urethane, the elastomer fingers are pliant, allowing them to conform to a customer’s lips and apply product even in the folds and crevices of the lip’s skin, as well as massage the lips. Lip gloss collects in the spaces between the fingers, slowly making its way onto the applicator’s tip for a more-controlled dose.

Glass Airless Dispenser
The TAG dispenser is touted as the beauty industry’s first glass airless package. The dispenser looks like a standard glass bottle but contains an airtight plastic pouch that is permanently attached to a dispensing pump. The package is offered as a more-luxurious option for airless packaging. The bottle can be decorated in numerous ways, including all-over frosting, which masks the look of the pouch in the bottle. Bottle sizes include 30 and 50 ml. The standard GCMI bottle neck is 24-410.

New Squeeze Mist
A supplier has introduced a new version of its all-plastic Squeeze Mist dispenser—the Squeeze Mist 90. Like the original Squeeze Mist, Squeeze Mist 90 is a small spray package, in sizes of 3 and 5 ml, that dispenses product when customers squeeze the bottle. The top of the new Squeeze Mist 90 rotates 90° to open and has an indentation to make it easy for consumers to see where product dispenses from the package.

Oval Airless
By using an airless bag instead of a piston system, a supplier is able to produce airless packages in unique shapes. Its Mouse airless package has a rounded top and bottom. The pouch is made from aluminum. The dispenser also has a locking mechanism.

Refillable Airless Package
A refillable piston-airless package with a built-in brush applicator dispenses product when customers press a button on the bottom of the package. The 20-ml Pump-N-Tint package is a patented design. To refill the package, customers can use the cap of the refill product cartridge to unlock the bottom of the dispenser. A new product cartridge can then be inserted.

PLA Pencil Sharpener
Pencil sharpeners made from polylactic acid resin are suited for 8- and 12-mm-diam cosmetic pencils. The Kum Eco sharpeners also have wands attached for cleaning pencil shavings out of the metal blade. The sharpener utilizes the supplier’s Double Blade System.

Retractable Mascara Wand
A supplier showcased its award-winning travel-friendly Telescoping mascara wand, which was introduced last year. When customers unscrew the cap from the mascara bottle, the wand lengthens. As the cap is screwed back onto the bottle, the wand becomes shorter again.
